Grand ceremonial opening on June 2 from 5:00 p.m.
The Kunstverein Lingen e.V. was founded on June 2, 1983 by citizens of Lingen and is still the sponsor of the art school on Universitätsplatz in Lingen and the Kunsthalle on Kaiserstraße in Lingen. Already for 40 years both institutions stand in complementing way for extracurricular education and clearing-up - reason enough, in order to celebrate on Friday, 02 June 2023 the birthday of the art association Lingen registered association.
To this celebration in whose framework both an exhibition in the art hall Lingen and another in the art school Lingen are opened, the art association Lingen cordially invites. It begins at 5 p.m. on the Universitätsplatz at the Kunstschule with a welcome by Georg Aehling (Chairman of the Kunstverein Lingen), a greeting by Sabine Fett (Managing Director Landesverband der Kunstschulen in Niedersachsen), then the founding member of the association Heiner Schepers speaks about the beginnings of the art school and finally the former directors of the art school Christel Grunewaldt- Rohde and Evelyn Adam and the current director Annette Sievers talk about the art school Lingen in its development and introduce the exhibition entitled "40 years of art school Lingen".
Then follows a joint walk through the Marienstraße with a stop at signs of the number 40, designed by the art school, to the Kunsthalle Lingen in Hall IV on the Kaiserstraße, where the celebration will continue at 7:30 p.m. and the exhibition entitled "40 Years - 40 Artists:inside" will be opened. It speaks again to welcome Georg Aehling and presents the publication published on the occasion of the anniversary "40 years Kunstverein Lingen. 1983 to 2023", followed by greetings from Prof. Joachim Schachtner (State Secretary in the Ministry of Science and Culture), Martin Gerenkamp (First District Councillor of the Emsland District) and Dieter Krone (Mayor of the City of Lingen (Ems)), and finally Heiner Schepers and Meike Behm will introduce the exhibition at Kunsthalle Lingen. After the official speeches, a celebration will take place to which everyone:r is cordially invited.
