To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the museum's opening, we held the Homecoming of Shigeru Aoki's The Portrait of Yukihiko - Meiji Era and Female Painters exhibition and the Art Link Tochigi 2018 - Collection from the Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts - Created Women / Creating Women exhibition at the same time.

In Exhibition Room 1, we introduced the works of a female painter from Mizuhashi Village (now the Haga Town), Tane Fukuda, as well artworks of Western-style painters related to Tochigi, such as Shigeru Aoki, Bunsai Ioki, and Hoan Kosugi.

In Exhibition Room 2, in conjunction with Tane Fukuda, who was introduced at the same time in the exhibition Meiji Era and Female Painters, we exhibited a wide range of works of Georges Ferdinand Bigot, Kunisuke Hashimoto and other artists from the Meiji era in relation to the theme of women involved in art and works of contemporary female artists, such as Yayoi Kusama and Miran Fukuda.

Artists: Georges Ferdinand Bigot, Miran Fukuda, Hosuke Hashimoto, Leiko Ikemura, Yuki Katsura, Sumio Kawakami, Yayoi Kusama, Saori Akutagawa (Madokoro), Reiko Muto, Setsuko Okada, Fuki Sekiya.
