"Isa Mona Lisa" is the ironic and playful title of a major exhibition that provides lively insights into current contemporary art based on special positions of international contemporary artists. The title is taken from a photograph of the same name by Wolfgang Tillmans (*1968) of his artist colleague Isa Genzken (*1948), both of whom are also represented with works in the exhibition. Visitors can look forward to specially designed artist rooms featuring new acquisitions from the Hamburger Kunsthalle, most of which are being presented for the first time, iconic works from the collection and works that can be shown thanks to a recent collaboration with an important private collection in Hamburg. The selected exhibits - including paintings, drawings, photographs and installations - will be presented on the entire ground floor of the Galerie der Gegenwart.

Artists (selection): Alexandra Bircken, Thorsten Brinkmann, Nina Canell, Edith Dekyndt, Noi Fuhrer, Isa Genzken, Leiko Ikemura, Joachim Koester, Jochen Lempert, Melanie Manchot, Silke Otto-Knapp, Neo Rauch, Gerhard Richter, Paul Thek, Wolfgang Tillmans and others.
