Expected at Singer Laren: My World, curated by Hans den Hartog Jager

The Netherlands harbors a wealth of contemporary art, often "hidden" in private collections. From September 18, 2024, Singer Laren brings together a selection of these artworks in My World. The exhibition offers a unique insight into some of the most important private Dutch collections with top quality international contemporary art. On view is work from all corners of the globe by Yayoi Kusama, Charles Avery, Kehinde Wiley, Ai Weiwei, Zanele Muholi, Marlene Dumas, Anselm Kiefer and others. Curated by art critic and curator Hans den Hartog Jager, the exhibition highlights the world an art collector builds and continues to expand.

In My World, the visitor travels through seven museum rooms, each with its own theme and atmosphere. From a room full of portraits and human figures that hold up a mirror to us, to the final room in which heaven and the universe take center stage. Here we are briefly confronted with the intangible and eternity.

Long tradition
The exhibition is part of a long tradition of Singer Laren to show work from private collections. By collaborating with collectors, the museum makes art that is not normally accessible to the public visible. In doing so, the museum invites everyone to discover the world of contemporary art and experience how works of art can expand and enrich everyone's world. The exhibition My World will be on display at Singer Laren from September 18, 2024 through January 12, 2025.
