The Toyota Municipal Museum of Art is pleased to announce the addition of 31 works by 11 artists to its collection, donated by five individuals this year. This exhibition introduces these new works along with the existing collection.

The addition of new works to the museum's collection does not only mean an increase in the number of items in the museum's collection. Just as relationships change with the start of a new semester, the addition of new works of art can give an existing collection a different character. The value of a museum's collection is constantly being renewed, and is always being discovered in new ways.

For this exhibition, we have established two themes: "Places Nearby / Places Far Away / Places Nowhere" and "Trees and People: Paint, Carve, Shape". Although loosely grouped, we hope that visitors will be able to grasp the characteristics of the museum's collection. We hope that this exhibition will provide an opportunity for visitors to become familiar with both new and familiar artists and works with a fresh perspective.
