The exhibition Stopover, whose momentary character is deliberately alluded to in the title, shows a selection of works from the Pohl Collection over two floors.  The starting point for this show is the question of what characterises this collection, what interests are reflected in it and what kind of stories it can tell. For the first time, the themes that form the basis of the Pohl Collection's profile are presented as examples.

In the first part, paintings, sculptures, photographs, wall objects, installations and ceramics are exhibited, which not only illustrate the existing diversity of genres, but also show how artists explore the world and make things visible that are otherwise hidden from our eyes.

In the second part, one of the main focal points of the collection is presented: Abstract painting from the last 40 years, in which colour can be experienced in the field of tension between materiality and appearance. Colour mediums and supports as well as the way in which they are applied open up questions about the visibility of both the sensual and sensuous effects of painting that does not seek to represent anything depictive.
