This year, in addition to the program organised by participating venues, VO establishes a special headquarters: During the opening weekend (May 8–11, 2025), the historic Hotel Bayerischer Hof will not only host international guests but also become the stage for an “Unconference.” A marathon of music, performances, artist talks, conference panels, film screenings, and site-specific interventions transforms the hotel into place of encounters.
"Too Soon to Say – The Unconference" is a glitch in the order of things. As the Hotel Bayerischer Hof opens its doors to contemporary art, VO creates an atmosphere in which rules are questioned and the possible reimagined. The participants will bring the hotel’s storied rooms to life. Together, we invite visitors to step into an ephemeral world and venture through the strange, the challenging, the speculative, the cathartic and the historical – and to perceive the world as something that can be changed. How can art envision the future not just critically but as something aspirational? Can these visions generate impulses for the present? It is "too soon to say“ what will be said or experienced, what will become memory, dream, fantasy, or reality. However, what is certain is that art remains a foundation of our solidarity-based and future-oriented coexistence. In the face of today’s social and political challenges, the Unconference embraces speculation as a method to open up new perspectives and possibilities for action.
Please note, that the program of the "Unconference" is constantly being updated.
